Who are we?
This initiative was set up by a group of doctors working in Ireland who wanted to start a conversation about doctors with chronic illness and/or disabilities.
We want to start a conversation about inclusion. We want to start a conversation about support for doctors with chronic illnesses and/or disabilities. We strive to help inform thesedoctors in Ireland about their rights and their training options. We wish to advocate for a more inclusive profession.
Doctors with chronic illness and/or disabilities exist. They have valuable skills and insights that enhance the medical profession and ultimately they are 'WellAble' to work in medicine.
1. To create awareness about doctors with chronic illness/disabilities
2. To advocate for inclusion within medicine in Ireland
2. To provide information about working/training options to help doctors inform themselves when making career choices
3. To connect doctors to others with similar experiences for support
"There is no greater disability in society, than the inability to see a person as more."
